Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a small team of audio journalists to produce daily news podcasts and oversee the publication of shorter news briefs.
  • Assigning stories, editing and approving scripts, and helping produce and edit audio.
  • Tapping into the stories of the Journal's newsroom, fact-checking and editing short and long-form scripts for multiple daily podcasts and news briefs.
  • Interviewing WSJ reporters and external sources, coaching those without audio experience.
  • Coordinating with the London-based video team to ensure collaboration.
  • Liaising with other leaders in the WSJ newsroom to coordinate news coverage.
  • Partnering with audio engineers to ensure high-quality audio.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years working in a news or news-adjacent setting, preferably in business news.
  • 5+ years' experience in audio storytelling.
  • Experience leading and managing a small team.
  • Experience fact-checking and editing audio scripts, both before and after recordings.

Based on your qualifications and experience, we estimate the salary for this role to be around $130,000 per year.
