Accounting Policy Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Policy Manager to join our team at Newstone Talent Solutions. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate group-wide accounting policies and maintain the Group accounting manual.
  • Provide technical accounting support to business unit finance teams.
  • Advise Risk, Treasury, and Tax functions on accounting policy matters.
  • Evaluate and implement new IFRS and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Support the production of Board and Audit Committee papers, advising on accounting and regulatory developments.
  • Engage effectively with auditors on accounting issues and audit matters.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Group Accounting and Regulatory Policy to inform and advise the Finance community on emerging developments.
  • Lead the finance technical training agenda.
  • Conduct technical reviews of the Group's financial statements to ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant with 2+ years of experience (Ideally ACA).
  • Strong technical and financial reporting knowledge within the financial services sector, preferably insurance.
  • Ability to constructively challenge and analyse results.
  • Hands-on approach with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong control mindset and experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Pragmatic decision maker with a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Enthusiastic and curious.
