Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEN Support
Job Type: Full-time, Temporary
Location: Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester
About the Role:
We are seeking a confident and outgoing Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and additional learning needs on a 1-1 basis and generally in the classroom. The successful candidate will be required to assist students with SEN, help with classroom preparation, and support teachers in managing class behavior.
Responsibilities:
- Assist students with SEN and additional learning needs on a 1-1 basis and generally in the classroom
- Help with classroom preparation, including setting up materials and equipment
- Support teachers in managing class behavior and supervising group activities
- Help students who need extra support to complete tasks and assignments
- Assist teachers in planning learning activities and completing records
- Support students who are upset or have had accidents
- Clear away materials and equipment after lessons
- Help with outings and sports events
- Participate in training and professional development
- Carry out administrative tasks as required
Requirements:
- Level 2 Qualified Teaching Assistant or equivalent
- Understanding of special needs and how to support those children
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
