About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd, providing support to children aged 4-17 with mild to severe learning difficulties in our special needs school near Guildford.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist the class teacher in delivering the learning experience of students, focusing on behaviour and pastoral support, building strong relationships, and meeting individual student needs. The role also involves practical approaches, excellent communication skills, and ensuring the safeguarding of students.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in creating an engaging learning environment
  • Provide behaviour and pastoral support to students
  • Build strong, effective relationships with students
  • Develop practical strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Utilize excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Care for and listen to students
  • Work one-to-one and in small groups with students
  • Ensure the safeguarding of students
  • Attend staff meetings and complete relevant CPD

What We Offer:

Excellent training, support, and CPD opportunities to ensure the safeguarding of all students. A competitive salary of £80-£85 per day (PAYE, term-time only) is offered to the right candidate. You must have the right to work in the UK to apply.
