Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Street Lighting Engineer to join our team at Cheshire West and Chester Council. As a key member of our Street Lighting and Traffic Signal team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and contributing to the delivery of services specific to Street Lighting Design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Design and Delivery: Lead on the technical design of new Street Lighting schemes, undertake design checks, and manage internal and external Street Lighting works.
  • Design and Analysis: Carry out designs, inspections, analyze engineering problems, apply technical expertise, and produce innovative solutions using complex interactive computer systems.
  • Project Management: Manage wide-ranging works and activities on the public highway, including liaising with and supervising developers/contractors during the construction of new infrastructure.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Deal with correspondence and telephone enquiries, consult with statutory undertakers, District and Parish councils, other Services, and units of the Service.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Assist the Team Leader for Street Lighting and Traffic Signals in controlling, monitoring, and maximizing budgets, and contribute to the continued development of the specific Service area.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in Street Lighting Design and a proven track record of delivering complex projects. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
