Role Overview

A dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting children with special educational needs is required to work in a welcoming Primary School in Stalybridge. This is a full-time, long-term role where you will provide 1:1 support for a KS1 child with global developmental delay who is non-verbal.

We are looking for someone who can create a nurturing environment and help the child engage with the curriculum and classroom activities.

The estimated salary for this role is £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Job:

This role involves providing high levels of individualized support to enable the child to access the curriculum and participate fully in class activities. You will be responsible for developing strategies to promote engagement and participation, including creating visual aids and adaptations to enhance learning opportunities.

You will also contribute to the development of an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, promoting social interaction and integration with peers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide 1:1 support to a child with a statement of special educational needs
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans to promote engagement and participation
- Create and adapt materials and resources to meet the child's specific needs
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of lessons to ensure accessibility for all students

Requirements:

- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with developmental delays
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
