Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Specialist to join our team at The Workshop. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our anode casting process.

About the Role

This is a physically demanding role that requires manual handling of heavy loads and working in a hot environment with exposure to molten metals. You will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the company's anode casting operation, producing zinc and aluminium sacrificial anodes, as well as performing other production and machining tasks.

Responsibilities
  • The melting process, including managing the temperature and quality of the metal
  • Spectrographic melt analysis to ensure consistency and quality
  • The casting process, involving pouring molten metal into molds
  • Insert production, including fabricating and welding molds
  • Machine-shop operations, including operating hydraulic presses, grinders, and fettling equipment
  • Fundamental maintenance of the foundry and machine shop, including housekeeping and tooling upkeep
  • Packing and materials handling, including forklift operations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably in a foundry or similar environment
  • An attention to detail, ensuring high-quality products
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a hot environment

Working Hours

Full-time hours: 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Weekend overtime available.
