About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to spearhead our high voltage (HV) National Grid infrastructure projects. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in managing costs, ensuring projects are delivered within budget, and providing commercial support for complex HV transmission and distribution projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, and manage cost estimates, budgets, and valuations for high voltage projects, including substations, overhead lines, and cable installations.
  • Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring accurate reporting and forecasting of project costs.
  • Provide regular commercial reports and updates to senior management and key stakeholders, including cash flow forecasts and risk analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with National Grid contract terms, safety standards, and governance frameworks.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in high voltage (HV) National Grid or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of cost control, contract management, and project finance within HV construction.
  • Familiarity with National Grid governance, safety standards, and contract frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors, suppliers, and clients.
