Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, working with families who have experienced adverse maternity experiences. The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological assessment, consultation, and interventions for families affected by perinatal bereavement and trauma.

About the Role

This is a part-time position, working 15 hours per week, hosted and managed within our Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Care Group. The post-holder will work closely with our Maternal Mental Health Service and will be supervised by an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

Main Duties
  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and consultation for families affected by perinatal bereavement and trauma.
  • Offer psychological interventions for families, including women or birthing persons who have experienced perinatal bereavement and/or trauma, and other family members who have been similarly affected.
  • Embed systematic evaluation of interventions offered within the service, enabling monitoring of effectiveness and quality of experience for families, and feedback to commissioners on demand for the service.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, and post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice. The ideal candidate will have experience working across a range of mental health settings post-qualification, and experience related to maternal mental health/maternity care is desirable.
