Assistant Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Accountant to join our finance team at Reed. This role is ideal for a candidate who has a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports and ensure accounts reconciliations are completed accurately.
  • Invoice Processing: Process invoices and resolve any related queries to ensure timely payment.
  • Account Management: Manage assigned accounts and monitor payment status to reduce past-due payments.
  • Communication: Liaise with service providers, such as BT, to resolve any billing queries.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and current records of inventory and business finances.
  • Customer Follow-up: Proactively follow up on customer outstanding balances through email and calls.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations at the end of each month.
  • System Updates: Update details and maintain accurate records on Sage and Salesforce.
  • Payment Matching: Ensure direct debits and payments are matched up correctly.
  • Reporting: Generate accounts weekly/monthly reports to provide insights into business performance.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's, Master's degree, or at least Part Qualified in ACCA or CIMA.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, proficiency in using accounting software, such as Sage, and CRM systems like Salesforce.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and good communication skills.
