We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality ophthalmic care to patients across the Morecambe Bay Area. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team delivering excellent patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Providing general ophthalmology services, including cataract clinics on all three hospital sites
  • Managing AMD and medical retina clinics, as well as diabetic retinopathy clinics with non-medical HCP support for intravitreal injections
  • Supporting the corneal service and glaucoma service, including virtual clinics where applicable
  • Leading the paediatric service with optometric support across three sites
About Us

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust consists of three main hospital sites: Westmorland General in Kendal, Furness General in Barrow-in-Furness, and the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and license to practice
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or within 6 months of completion at the time of interview
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (or equivalent)
