Job Title: Digital Archive Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Digital Archive Officer. As a key member of our Archives & Records Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of our digital records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Microsoft 365 to manage public records effectively
  • Set up a Digital Archives Repository for born-digital and digitized archives
  • Support the development of the digital record-keeping aspects of our Information Strategy and statutory Records Management Plan
  • Establish processes and procedures for digital archive appraisal, ingest, and management using Preservica's Cloud Essentials platform
  • Lead on a major digital preservation project to secure and review the Transport Initiatives Edinburgh company archive
  • Help design and implement record retention labels in Microsoft 365
  • Develop lifecycle management processes and templates for SharePoint Online / Teams sites
  • Support an organization-wide program to migrate content into Microsoft 365
  • Contribute to the Council's Information Strategy and Records Management Plan
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate qualification in archives and records management, or equivalent sector experience
  • Strong understanding of digital preservation and record-keeping principles
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
