About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Engineer to lead our Specialist Hydraulics team and contribute to our exciting portfolio of multimillion-pound UK Water Industry projects.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting hydraulic analysis and designing water/wastewater treatment plants and pipelines for a diverse range of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead professionals in hydraulic design, leveraging their collective expertise to deliver innovative solutions on a diverse range of projects.
  • Work collaboratively with various other design discipline engineers on projects and drive critical decisions.
  • Prepare design reports that detail calculations/analysis performed and key findings.
  • Estimate and budget man-hours for design tasks.
  • Validate all deliverables, including calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications, taking the role of a Lead Verifier in accordance with our Quality Assurance (QA) system.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Proven experience in hydraulic design within the UK Water Industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hydraulic design principles and experience collaborating with other disciplines, such as Process, Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical.
  • Hydraulic design for water and wastewater treatment works typically using HADES but also bespoke analysis and calculation where necessary.
  • Transient analysis and design of surge suppression systems.
  • Familiarity with computational fluid dynamics and clean and wastewater network modelling.
  • Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing.
