Job Title: EMEA Financial Accountant

At CBRE, we are seeking a highly skilled EMEA Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient processing of financial transactions and reporting across the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and manage journal entries, balance sheets, reconciliations, and other relevant accounting matters in compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP.
  • Coordinate and liaise with the Shared Service centre to ensure timely processing of Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Billings, and Intercompany Recharging prior to month end close.
  • Review end-to-end controls, ensure controls are robust, and coordinate with Financial Risk Management to implement and monitor an effective SOX compliant control environment across EMEA.
  • Actively communicate with counterparties based across CBRE US and EMEA, accruing the monthly costs, preparing quarterly intercompany invoice recharges accurately and on a timely basis, providing all the necessary support for local reporting purposes.
  • Analyze and report monthly costs on a statutory and functional unit basis, conducting variance analysis to identify cost drivers and seek efficiencies by identifying opportunities for automation and cost savings.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations to ensure all balances are reviewed and any material variances are investigated and resolved on a timely basis each period end.
  • Perform variance analysis of the P&L and Balance Sheet and provide detailed commentary of key balances and movements.
  • Responsible for the project management and delivery for annual financial statements including all statutory disclosures in accordance with relevant local GAAP and CBRE accounting policies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors, tax advisors, and third-party service providers. Liaise with the Global finance team to resolve any financial accounting activities and questions on a timely basis, providing accounting data input to requests from Management and FP&A on a monthly basis.

We are looking for a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with 2-5 years post-qualification experience, ideally previously worked in a US global matrix environment. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships, and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders. Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, proficient at using Microsoft Excel, and self-starter with the ability to resolve issues with own initiative and manage deliverables are essential. Experience with PeopleSoft, OneStream, and Trintech Cadency is desirable.
