Job Summary

Aberdeen City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Education Professional to join our team. As a Teaching Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to assigned pupils and contributing to the professional, corporate life of the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach the full curriculum in the relevant subject or sector, and develop the curriculum to meet the needs of our pupils.

• Manage and organise classes through planning and preparing for teaching and learning, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Assess, record, and report on the work of pupils' progress to inform a range of teaching and learning approaches.

• Prepare pupils for examinations and qualifications, and assist with their administration as required.

• Contribute to good order and the wider needs of the school, maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all.

Requirements

• Hold a minimum of an appropriate teaching qualification.

• Be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTC) in the relevant subject or sector, or be eligible for such registration.

• Be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
