About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor to join our team as a Regional Vehicle Damage Assessor for our North East region.

As a Regional VDA, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting multiple sites, ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of the repair centres in the North East.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of damaged vehicles and provide accurate repair estimates.
  • Utilise your technical expertise to identify the correct repair method required, as well as the cost and time scale to produce comprehensive repair plans, in line with BSI 10125 standards.
  • Liaise with insurance companies, customers, and internal teams to ensure all repair work and costs are authorised and issues are resolved quickly.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and build and maintain positive relationships with customers and insurance companies.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of damage assessments, estimates, and repair progress.
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of VDAs across the region.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area and ensure that health and safety regulations and procedures are adhered to.
About You

You will have proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, or similar role, in the automotive repair industry.

You will be proficient and confident in using relevant software, such as Audatex, for estimating and assessment purposes, as well as a strong understanding of vehicle repair techniques.

You will also have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and manage your time and resources effectively and efficiently.
  • A high attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and thorough repair assessments and estimates.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Be flexible in your approach.
  • A strong customer focus and be able to build relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in estimating, such as ATA VDA accreditation, will be advantageous.
