Join Our Team as a Commis Chef

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Commis Chef to join our team at Mercure Hawkwell House Hotel. As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of dishes, ensuring the availability of mise-en-place, and maintaining excellent food hygiene practices.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and experience in food preparation and presentation. You will work closely with our experienced chefs to create memorable moments for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of dishes in a timely fashion and to agreed standards.
  • Ensure the availability of mise-en-place as required.
  • Observe excellent food hygiene practice through the entire food chain from storage through to preparation and service.
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Having completed and apprenticeship and/or achieved trade recognition a Commis Chef works as part of the kitchen team. Engaged in cooking, baking, pastry cooking or butchering duties
  • Passion for great food and customer focused
  • Cool and calm under pressure
  • Strong team player with the ability to fit into a tight-knit team
  • Prior experience in a similar position
  • Experience developing and motivating people to achieve their best
