Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced HSE Technician to support our Engineering, Procurement & Construction business line. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with UK Construction Health and Safety Regulations, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support EPC Business Line throughout the project lifecycle, from outline design to handover to the Operation & Maintenance department.
  • Liaise with and coordinate project deliverables from HSE supply chain partners, including consultants and resource providers.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including the Operations & Maintenance Services team, to ensure compliance with Voltalia's safety policies and objectives.
  • Promote HSE culture within the business through communication, training programs, systems support, and advice to the project team.
  • Promote compliance with Voltalia Global HSE Requirements and ensure local regional regulatory compliance.
  • Support in the coordination of HSE supply chain resources and equipment required for project deployment across the UK project portfolio.
  • Ensure timely reporting of monthly project data for statistical analysis.
  • Conduct regular HSE compliance inspections and audits of internal and external EPC sites, make recommendations for continual improvement, record preventative and corrective actions.
  • Organize and facilitate Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment workshops with personnel to assist in ongoing risk-based management of projects, operations, activities, and tasks.
  • Support and review internal and external Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure safe systems of working.
  • Conduct regular reviews of Emergency Response Plans and organize regular safety exercises and drills to ensure procedural effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
  • Investigate, report, and manage incidents, contributing towards the reduction of HSE incidents and accidents.
  • Assist in the management of Non-Conformance Reporting processes relating to all HSE activities.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Higher in HSE Management, National Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Diploma, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, or suitable equivalent.
  • At least 5 years' experience within construction, engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, power distribution, Renewable energy sectors, Oil & Gas; Electrical Safety knowledge would be a distinct advantage.
  • Fluent with UK Construction Health and Safety Regulations, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Professionally affiliated, preferably with the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Tech IOSH) or working towards it.
  • Availability to business travel.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office.
  • Robust, resilient and flexible.

Estimated Salary: £52,500 per annum
