We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Staff Product Designer to join our team at William Hill, specialising in design systems. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the evolution and maintenance of our Helix design system, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability across our portfolio.

The successful candidate will have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for finding creative solutions to complex design challenges. They will be responsible for designing and implementing a robust token system, ensuring product consistency and scalability.

As a key member of our team, the Staff Product Designer will work closely with product designers, developers, and stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure the design system effectively supports their workflows.

We are committed to responsible gambling and are looking for people who can support our ethos. To be successful in this role, you will have a wealth of professional experience in design, with a strong focus on design systems and component libraries for a national or global organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Design Systems Ownership, taking complete ownership of William Hill's design system, ensuring it is comprehensive, well-documented, and consistently applied across all design projects.
  • Variables Component Expertise, developing and implementing variables and components within Figma, enabling flexibility, customisation, and adaptability for various use cases and screen sizes.
  • Collaboration, working closely with product designers, developers, and stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure the design system effectively supports their workflows.
  • Documentation, maintaining thorough and up-to-date documentation for the design system, including guidelines, component libraries, and best practices.
  • Evangelism, advocating for the design system internally, educating, and empowering teams to utilise it effectively.
  • Mentorship, providing guidance and mentorship to designers, fostering a culture of design excellence and knowledge sharing.
