Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Estimator to join our team at Focus Resourcing Group. As a key member of our Operations Team, you will be responsible for providing accurate project-specific solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Quotations: Ensure that major project quotations and technical submissions are completed on time, accurate, and commercially sound to maximize their chance of conversion to order.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain improved communication within the wider Operations Team.
  • Project Management: Manage, update, and take ownership of project folders.
  • Customer Engagement: Ensure that all key information at the enquiry stage is obtained to offer the best suitable solution to the client.
  • Technical Expertise: Confidently discuss information of a technical nature with customers.
  • Design Compliance: Ensure that designs produced are compliant with current legislation/regulations and industry best practice.
  • Customer Support: Support customers and colleagues in the timely resolution of technical enquiries.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to colleagues and customers alike.
Requirements:
  • Commercial Awareness: Good commercial awareness and a strong understanding of engineering, contractual principles, and methods of working.
  • Technical Knowledge: Good working knowledge and experience in a similar technical role, ideally with a commercial market focus.
  • Analytical Skills: Good analytical and critical thinking skills, with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Planning and Organization: Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Qualifications: A mechanical/electrical/building services engineering qualification, e.g., HNC or equivalent.
