Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Superintendent to join our team at Northern Marine Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels, as well as maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all vessels under management are operated in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on vessel performance, including safety, quality, and operational metrics.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve vessel efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to ensure effective communication and coordination between ship and shore-based staff.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to vessel staff and management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Manage and coordinate vessel maintenance and repair activities, including scheduling and budgeting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of vessel performance and other relevant data.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Qualifications to perform as a key member of the shipboard management team.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the shipping industry.
  • Strong knowledge of vessel operations, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
