Electrical Systems Specialist Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our Waste Pumping Team in Camberley.

As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating approximately 250 waste pumping stations across the Camberley and surrounding areas. This is a critical role that ensures the delivery of life's essential service to our customers, communities, and the environment.

You will work closely with a small team to ensure the assets on site remain in service. This will involve routine maintenance and problem-solving when things go wrong. The team are keen to welcome and train new people to help them ensure all the plants remain in service.

The Role:

  • Carry out scheduled planned and reactive maintenance work on various wastewater residential assets and industrial electrical machinery in compliance with company procedures to minimize plant breakdowns.
  • Provide technical advice, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
  • Work on various equipment such as pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling and dosing equipment.
  • Participate in a stand-by rota following relevant training.

Requirements:

  • 18th Edition electrical City and Guilds certification is crucial.
  • Ideal experience in inspecting, maintaining, fault diagnosis, testing, installation, modifying or repairing Electrical plant equipment.
  • Ideal experience maintaining large pumps, actuated valves, electronic control systems and 3-phase electrical switchgear is essential.
  • Able to work in confined spaces and completion of appropriate training required.
  • Fully qualified electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
  • Competitive salary up to £35,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
  • Standby rota payments & Overtime opportunities can increase this earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
