Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities- Develop and deliver clinical skills educational programs to ensure that mothers and infants are cared for by staff with appropriate knowledge and skills.
- Lead practice-based education and training for staff, including the development of skills drills and scenarios.
- Work collaboratively with the wider education teams to ensure that training is up-to-date, responsive, and supports risk reduction and safe practice.
- Evaluate and produce reports on training data, providing a clear overview of training compliance to divisional and trust board level.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in midwifery, with experience of teaching and developing staff, effective practice supervision, and assessment of learners. They will also have good IT skills, an understanding of national maternity agendas, and the ability to make clinical decisions and develop others in this area.
Qualifications and ExperienceThe successful candidate will be a Registered Midwife with a BSc/BA in Midwifery, and will have a portfolio of evidence of professional development. They will also have experience of working within a training department within the NHS, and will have a strong understanding of the political context of healthcare.
Work Skills and KnowledgeThe successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. They will also have the ability to deal with sensitive and difficult situations with tact and diplomacy, and will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, innovative, and flexible.
