About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Teacher for Deaf Education to join our team. As a Specialist Teacher for Deaf Education, you will be responsible for providing specialized teaching and support to students with hearing loss across Berkshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support for children with hearing loss, ensuring they have access to the National Curriculum in compliance with the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (SENCOP) and Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)
  • Collaborate with schools, colleges, and settings to enhance their capacity for inclusivity, providing training, advice, and teaching strategies
  • Promote inclusion by facilitating the integration of students with hearing loss into mainstream educational settings through early intervention, technology solutions, and staff development
