Deaf Instructor

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional to join our team as a Deaf Instructor. As a key member of our Teacher of the Deaf Team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist BSL support for children and young people who require sign language provision.

About the Job

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Level 3 BSL qualification and experience of working with children and young people who are deaf. You will work with deaf children and young people to develop their communication skills, and provide training, advice, and resources to families and educational settings on deaf awareness and the use of sign language.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist BSL support for children and young people who require sign language provision
• Work with deaf children and young people to develop their communication skills
• Provide training, advice, and resources to families and educational settings on deaf awareness and the use of sign language
• Develop the knowledge and skills of families of deaf children and young people who require sign language as the primary mode of communication
