Job Title: Academic Human Resources Officer

Acro Aircraft Seating Ltd is a leading manufacturer of passenger seats for commercial airlines. We are seeking an experienced Academic Human Resources Officer to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Academic Human Resources Officer will be responsible for providing HR support to our academic team, including induction and onboarding of new employees, generating KPI reports, and driving improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out induction and onboarding of new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Generate KPI reports and HR metrics to track employee engagement, absence, and diversity.
  • Drive improvement initiatives to reduce absence and increase staff retention.
  • Lead managers on discipline and grievance issues, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.
  • Manage sickness absence and ensure consistent application of the absence policy.
  • Support managers with performance management activity, including coaching and development.
  • Design and implement HR training programs to develop managers' skills and knowledge.
  • Lead employee wellbeing initiatives to create a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Support project work, including employee engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to inform future HR strategies.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders, providing guidance and advice as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a generalist HR role, with a focus on academic HR.
  • CIPD-qualified or part-qualified, with a strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Practical judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond to competing priorities.
  • Highly developed relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite, including Excel and HRIS systems.
