Adult Social Care Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Adult Social Care Worker to join our team in North Somerset. As a key member of our Adult Social Care Locality Team, you will work closely with Deaf/Deafblind individuals, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Deaf community members, understanding their needs and preferences.
  • Conduct Care Act Assessments and create personalized care plans, promoting independence and well-being.
  • Collaborate with health and social care colleagues, voluntary sector agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support.
  • Organize Deaf Awareness Week events and participate in existing community groups to provide information and advice.
  • Identify and address equipment needs for Deaf/deafblind/hard of hearing individuals in their home environment.
Requirements:
  • Passion for working with the Deaf community in a strength-based way.
  • Good knowledge of Deaf awareness and British Sign Language (BSL) at level 2 or above.
  • Background or understanding of health and social care or transferable skills.
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to learn in-house systems.
  • Valid driving license and own transport or alternative suitable method of travel.
