Civils Site Supervisor Job Description

At Go2personnel Solutions, we are seeking a highly skilled Civils Site Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our civil engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out joint site meetings with clients and other relevant stakeholders to discuss project progress and address any concerns.
  • Survey and mark up all existing services within the work area to ensure that they are identified and protected.
  • Identify areas where DFEs (Design for Excellence) are required and update job notes accordingly.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the office and Project Manager on project progress and any issues that may arise.
  • Carry out daily toolbox audits and safety audits with direct staff to ensure that they are following safe working practices.
  • Carry out Safe to Start audits before a job can commence to ensure that all necessary safety procedures are in place.
  • Carry out in-progress audits and coach operatives on site to ensure that they are working safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out gate checks on gangs as they leave the yard to ensure that they are leaving the site safely.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Experience and a strong understanding of the SROH (Street Works Code of Practice).
  • NRSWA accreditation to Supervisor level.
  • In-depth knowledge of the telecoms/civils industry.
  • IT skills to liaise with group works control.
  • An understanding of permit to work schemes and noticing.
  • Experience of demonstrating good communication skills and prioritising works effectively.
  • Comfortable and confident working to tight timescales effectively.
  • Experience of dealing with external stakeholders and communicating effectively.
  • Experience of implementing, following and amending procedures for the purpose of service delivery as dictated by the client.
