About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geriatrician Specialist with expertise in Surgical Liaison to join our team at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support inpatient services and contribute to the development of our frailty virtual ward.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and improve clinical outcomes.
  • Participate in innovative service development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the training and education of junior doctors and medical students.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • Full MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Meet the criteria set out in the generic capabilities framework for specialist grade.
  • At least 12 years of postgraduate practice experience, with a minimum of 6 years in the relevant specialty.
  • General training in Geriatric medicine to specialist level or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Appropriate higher degree (e.g., MD, PhD, or equivalent).
  • Experience of clinical audit and research.
  • Completed 'Train the Trainers' course.
  • Relevant research articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Personal Qualities
  • Demonstrate leadership skills within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to motivate staff and facilitate changes in clinical practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enthusiasm, and approachability.
