Job Description

This role is part of our dynamic team at Mecca Bingo's new venue in Luton.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all food preparation meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Work efficiently to minimize food waste.
  • Cook and serve food in line with Mecca's brand standards.
  • Play a key role in the kitchen, contributing to a productive and efficient working environment.
  • Ensure daily and weekly food safety checks are completed, including fridge and freezer temperatures.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen environment.
  • Use kitchen equipment safely.
  • Support a team-oriented approach, working collaboratively to achieve goals.
  • Follow kitchen open and close down procedures at the start and end of each shift.
  • Ensure safety in the kitchen and back of house area, adhering to food hygiene standards and protecting employees and guests.
  • Report any accidents or near misses through Mecca's designated channels.
  • Uphold the company's commitment to protecting young and vulnerable individuals, in accordance with responsible gambling policies and procedures.
  • Be aware of the three Licensing Objectives to protect customers and the business.

Our goal is to keep customers safe from the potential harms of gambling, in line with the Gambling Commission's licensing conditions and codes of practice.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a culinary or food preparation setting.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to business needs.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food safety guidelines.
Additional Information:

This is a weekend-only position.
