About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the Nuclear sector. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for nuclear power plants and other related facilities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for nuclear power plants and other related facilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets project requirements and regulatory standards
  • Develop and maintain detailed design documentation and technical reports
  • Conduct thorough analysis and testing of mechanical systems to ensure safety and reliability
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in mechanical design and nuclear energy


Requirements

  • Degree qualified mechanical engineer (or other relevant qualification)
  • Experience in requirements capture, including functional, non-functional, stakeholder and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in generating design solutions through formal optioneering processes or similar
  • Experience in carrying out mechanical engineering substantiation for new designs or existing plant
  • Experience in writing accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports (e.g., design calculations, basis of analysis, safety case reports)
  • Experience in delivery accountability for mechanical engineering solutions
  • Comfortable liaising with, presenting to, and influencing your stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally, in understanding their issues, goals, and processes
  • Proven track record of working effectively as part of a project team
