Job Title: Senior Design Architect

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Architect to join our team at Hunter Dunning Limited. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-end residential and commercial projects, working closely with our award-winning team to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop concept designs from stages 0 to 3, including brief formulation and concept development.
  • Collaborate with the delivery team to finalize proposals through stage 3 and into subsequent project phases.
  • Produce concept sketches and ideas using hand drawing techniques and computer-based tools.
  • Liaise with directors and technical delivery teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Supervise the production of planning drawings and coordinate with the design team.
  • Prepare design and access statements, arrange and attend pre-submission meetings with planning and design officers.
  • Prepare and submit planning and listed building consent applications.
  • Coordinate the discharge of consent conditions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience post Part-III.
  • A minimum of 5 years UK experience working in professional practice.
  • Experience working on high-end residential or high-end commercial/hotel projects with a contract value of circa £5million upwards.
  • Proven experience in delivering concept designs to RIBA stage 3.
  • Strong hand drawing/sketching skills are essential.
  • Strong management skills with the confidence to lead a small team.
  • Confident communication skills, particularly when dealing with external consultants.
  • Fluent use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, SketchUp and Adobe Suite.
  • Exceptional 3D concept visualisation skills are a must.
  • Possess a strong ability to conceptualise and interpret spatial design in three dimensions.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
