Job Title: Maintenance Planning Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Planning Engineer to join our team at Finning, the largest CAT dealership in the UK and Ireland. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for carrying out reconditioning and maintenance on Caterpillar products and supporting 2nd life overhauls to products within the Construction Equipment product group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake detailed inspections of machines to confirm or expand on initial field inspection reports.
  • Carry out standard diagnosis tests on machine components to enable accurate cost evaluations or for the issue of condition and warranty agreements to customers.
  • Produce comprehensive lists of parts and materials required for proposed machine preparation work.
  • Undertake overhaul, repair or refurbishment work on machines to agreed work plans, removing and dispatching components for specialist attention.
  • Inspect and test completed machines to ensure they are operating to expected performance levels.

  • Flexibility, organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, work accuracy/numeracy and quality orientated.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Motivated and dynamic self-starter.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Effective problem-solver with strong analytical skills.
