Job Title: System Risk Team Manager

At Thames Water, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Risk Team Manager to join our team. As a key member of our risk management team, you will be responsible for leading a team of customer risk analysts and technical leads to provide a service for London and TV & HC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of customer risk analysts and technical leads to provide a service for London and TV & HC.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop associated business strategies, targets, and KPIs to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Interrogate data to assess and develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Provide specialist technical support to the wider business in relation to Clean Water System risks.
  • Ensure Water Quality compliance is always adhered to.
  • Follow and comply with company Health & Safety procedures, auditing practices, and record keeping.
  • Ensure all network operations follow current Asset Management Procedures.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and propose strategies to prevent future failures/non-compliance.
  • Mentor and develop the team and other Thames Water colleagues.
  • Maintain continuous business awareness.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reports and information requests accurately and to required timescales.
  • Support the Water System Performance team in facilitating engineering and customer-led projects.
Requirements:
  • The ideal candidate will hold relevant leadership experience, preferably within the utilities industry.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills are essential, due to the level of engagement with different stakeholders throughout the business.
  • The individual must possess a growth mindset, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
  • Teamworking is at the core of this role, as is the ability to work under pressure to meet demanding targets.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate an extreme willingness to learn and work hard to drive their professional knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
  • Ideally, a working knowledge of hydraulic systems, SCADA/telemetry devices, GIS mapping systems, SAP, and other corporate IT systems such as Microsoft Office 365.
What We Offer:
  • We are offering a salary up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
  • 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays).
  • Contributory pension – Defined Contribution – Maximum of 12% – 2x employee contribution.
