About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our products and solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to schedule code reviews and scans according to guidelines set by the JCI Cyber Security Board.
  • Collaborate with Senior Cyber architects to analyze scan results, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with development teams to address cyber risks and ensure compliance with the latest security standards.
  • Act as a gatekeeper, working with development teams and customers to ensure that all released products meet the highest security standards.
Requirements
  • Ability to work three days a week in our Belfast office.
  • Authorization to work in Ireland.
  • Familiarity with formal cybersecurity controls and best practices, including OWASP Top 10 and NIST 800-53.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders, including engineering management, product security incident response teams, and global cybersecurity architects.
  • Previous development experience, including knowledge of authentication, authorization, and local and remote APIs.
  • Basic networking experience and understanding.
  • Understanding of common cybersecurity vulnerabilities, including authentication vs. authorization, vulnerability vs. weakness, and hash vs. ciphers.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a STEM subject, particularly cybersecurity, computer science, software engineering, or electronic engineering.
  • Cybersecurity qualifications, such as Security+, CCSP, CISSP, CEH, etc.
  • Familiarity with Common Vulnerability Enumerations (CVE's), Common Weakness Enumerations (CWE's).
  • Experience with software release pipelines, including VCS, branching/tagging, GitOps, software signing, versioning, CI/CD.
  • A basic understanding of software architecture diagrams, attack vectors, and threat modelling.
Estimated Salary Range: €80,000 - €110,000 per annum
