Senior Investigations Leader

Jameson Legal is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Investigations Director to lead our Investigations division. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing and implementing investigations strategies, and ensuring the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow the Investigations division, developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct business development activities and strategies to meet key metrics for the Investigations department.
- Innovate and lead the sharing of insights, best practices, and positively representing the Brand of the business.
- Build and protect client relationships, as well as the positive brand and expertise of the business.
- Devise and deliver department plans and reports routinely to stakeholders on key metrics, milestones, KPIs, and OKRs.
- Develop central resources, increase capabilities of investigators, and streamline forensic/investigative systems and resources.
- Manage quality assurance practices with the review and sign-off of investigation reports.
- Oversee triaging and investigations/investigators performance, case allocation.
- Advise investigators when escalation or support is required to conduct investigations globally.
- Lead investigations deemed significant into potential misconduct, fraud, or unethical behavior, or bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination, microaggressions, ensuring adherence to global legal and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare or review detailed investigation reports, including findings, recommendations, and preventive measures, and present them to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of workplace and societal norms and cultures, and how they inform or affect staff and workplace experiences.
- Develop and implement data analysis strategies, utilizing advanced techniques to extract meaningful insights, identify key trends, and assess business integrity risks.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, establish relevant key compliance indicators (KCIs), and deliver impactful reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to, and member of senior leadership, providing expert insights, recommendations, and guidance on business integrity matters, risk mitigation, and ethical decision-making on a global scale.
- Foster effective collaboration and communication with internal stakeholders, including legal, HR, security, cyber, health & safety, and other relevant departments, to identify issues, trends, and address and resolve business integrity concerns promptly and effectively.
- Represent the business externally, sharing thought leadership and best practices at global industry conferences and events.
About You
- Legally qualified (i.e., JD, LLB). Post-graduate degree in a relevant field preferred but not essential.
- Extensive experience in leading business integrity initiatives, conducting complex investigations, and leveraging data insights for risk mitigation.
- Extensive experience in building and managing investigation departments and teams.
- Demonstrable examples and case studies of business development practices and commercial successes with building profitable investigation departments.
- Proven ability to strategize and produce data stories, visualizations, and driving the use of insights for business integrity purposes.
- Strong understanding of business integrity principles, compliance frameworks, and global regulatory requirements, including privacy and employment law requirements relevant to investigations and disciplining employees.
- Growth and innovative mindset, with solution-focused approach to growth, scale, and general business logistics and obstacles.
- Exceptional analytical, drafting, report, and letter writing skills, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strategic leadership acumen, including the ability to drive collaboration, build strong relationships, and navigate global complexities.
- Professional certifications in investigations, data analysis, or related areas (e.g., CFE, CCEP, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in similar roles in multinational corporations or professional firms.
- Strong integrity reputation.
- Focus on internal customers' needs, ability to provide practical recommendations and solutions.
- Solid influencing and interpersonal skills in matrix organizations.
- Awareness of workplace culture, trends, and practices, as well as a keen passion and commitment to be a thought leader in investigations.
- Good problem-solving skills, resilience, and logical thinking, ability to evaluate and simplify complex issues.
- Ability to exercise good and independent judgment.
- Emotionally intelligent and well-balanced commercially strategic and empathetic leadership qualities.
- Managerial courage and confidence - ability to raise potentially sensitive and tense issues when needed to all levels of managers with gravitas and strategy to bridge solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to communicate to all levels in the company and pivot in times of need, prioritize with haste.
Successful applicants are likely to be qualified employment lawyers with significant workplace investigations experience, senior investigations professionals, or HR professionals with a strong emphasis on ER, culture, and workplace investigations.
A hybrid working policy is in place, with individuals generally spending 2-3 days per week in London, however, this can fluctuate depending on client requirements.
