About Our Client


Our client, a UK market leader in designing and manufacturing bespoke solutions for various applications, is seeking an experienced NPI Engineer. With over 25 years of history, they employ more than 50 people and supply to OEM companies.



Job Summary


The successful candidate will be responsible for leading new product introductions, developing formal processes, and providing technical support to the team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with electronics and battery management systems, as well as a solid understanding of current legislation affecting NPI.



Key Responsibilities



  • Lead all aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Develop and operate a formal NPI process and recording system
  • Provide technical support in custom product solution development and transfer to manufacturing
  • Assist with pre-sales technical assistance, BOM formulation, and production assembly instructions
  • Input data into the company's ERP system
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments
  • Author product specifications and instructions
  • Manage technical reports and represent the Technical team at Customer Meetings
  • Operate within relevant Electrical legislation and advise on integration within the company's BMS
  • Develop and undertake product tests and records
  • Identify HSE concerns and report to the SQM or H&S officer


Requirements


To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will be degree-qualified in an electronic engineering discipline, with excellent communication skills and experience in Agile or Prince2 systems. They will also have led or been part of an NPI team for products that have successfully entered production or the market place.



Salary and Benefits


The estimated salary for this position is c£41k per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, our client offers benefits such as a pension scheme, life insurance, and private healthcare.



Location


The position is based near Ilminster, with good commuting links from nearby towns.
