Established in the UK for nearly a quarter of a century, our client is renowned as a leader in designing and manufacturing bespoke solutions for diverse applications. With over 50 employees, they supply OEM companies and have an ongoing programme of strategic growth.

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our team based near Ilminster. As a key member, you will be responsible for various activities including:

Key Responsibilities

  • To act as technical lead for established products and new product introductions
  • To undertake design, development, research, and selection of electronic components and circuits for protecting low-voltage DC power solutions
  • To support the technical development of custom product solutions ensuring smooth transfer to manufacturing
  • To provide pre-sales technical assistance for electrical applications
  • To formulate technical aspects of BOMs and assist with development and approval of production assembly instructions
  • To input data into the company ERP system in support of the technical department
  • To liaise with customers, suppliers, and other internal departments as required
  • To assist with authoring product specifications and instructions, after-sales support services, and providing technical assistance to quality investigations
  • To manage the preparation of technical reports for projects and other departments
  • To represent the technical team at customer meetings and gain approvals and certification for new products
  • To develop and undertake product tests, identify health and safety or environmental concerns, and report to the SQM or H&S officer

This role requires a self-motivated and proactive individual willing to learn and work autonomously within a team. You must possess proven analytical skills, ability to troubleshoot anomalies in electronic behavior, and understand battery communication protocols. A degree qualification in electrical or electronic engineering is essential.
