Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in a vibrant primary school in Consett. This is a full-time position where you will work closely with a student who requires additional support, helping them achieve their learning goals in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support for a pupil with special educational needs (SEN), focusing on their individual learning and emotional well-being.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet the pupil's specific needs.
  • Support the pupil in their personal, social, and academic development, fostering a positive and encouraging learning experience.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and focused learning atmosphere.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, the SENCO, and other staff members to monitor and discuss the pupil's progress.
  • Encourage independence while providing appropriate guidance and support to help the pupil grow in confidence.
Requirements:
  • A solid understanding of special educational needs and effective strategies to support them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
  • The ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the pupil.
