Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Principal Automotive NPI Product Engineer to join our team at Semtech Corporation. As a key member of our Bristol design centre, you will be responsible for driving and owning overall quality and compliance to requirements specification of a product through its lifecycle, from definition to production release.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality and compliance processes and workflows for automotive products
  • Contribute to the development of automotive product and functional safety processes and workflows
  • Work with functional teams to deliver functional safety related assessments and analysis
  • Own understanding of how material fabrication process issues and variation correlate to reliability and performance parameters
  • Drive and execute on all NPI related activities for manufacturability
  • Enable decisions on the development or sourcing of technologies required for new products
  • Work with test engineering to bring up product and test solutions
  • Capture and track performance against specs through entire lifecycle
  • Plan and execute on production volume ramps and handover to sustaining team
  • Drive the resolution of failure analysis, root cause and corrective actions for field returns
Requirements
  • BSc in a relevant engineering subject
  • Ten years' experience working as a semiconductor product engineer, ideally for automotive mixed-signal products
  • In-depth knowledge of related quality standards and systems
  • Understanding of wafer fabrication processes and ATE capabilities
