About the Role

Join Elysium Healthcare as a Clinical Associate Specialist, where you will provide care for women facing personality disorders and mental health challenges within a well-established service. Your role will involve assessing, managing, and supporting individuals in a specialized setting that offers treatment and rehabilitation for those with complex needs, aiming to facilitate their reintegration into community living.

You will collaborate with a seasoned Consultant Psychiatrist and a diverse multidisciplinary team. This position allows you to deliver individualized care, treatment, and support to some of the most vulnerable individuals in our society.

As part of our team, you will have the chance to connect with a dynamic peer group of Consultant colleagues in the region and will work closely with your Consultant supervisor at Elysium Healthcare. Additionally, you will receive support to participate in the Psychiatrist Mentorship Scheme, fostering your personal and professional growth.

Elysium Healthcare is committed to providing high-quality inpatient treatment for up to 25 patients, organized across three units: rehabilitation, intensive care, and high-dependency settings, tailored to the acuity level of the patients. This opportunity has arisen due to a planned expansion of our services.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and manage admissions of new patients.
  • Gather collateral histories from other professionals and family members.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to formulate accurate diagnoses.
  • Support physical health evaluations and work closely with the GP service that offers a weekly clinic.
  • Prepare discharge letters and comprehensive reports.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the Care Programme Approach and treatment plans for service users.
  • Work in partnership with our Pharmacist to guarantee safe and evidence-based prescribing practices.
  • Engage with external professionals and collaborate with commissioners and care teams to facilitate smooth transitions to community care.
  • Contribute to service development through participation in Clinical Governance activities, quality initiatives, audits, research, and educational efforts.
  • Under the guidance of the Consultant, provide leadership to the clinical team and prepare reports for First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full GMC Registration.
  • Experience working in psychiatry within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Recent Appraisal/RITA within the last year.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in Psychiatry.
  • Experience as a physician in a similar environment.
  • Section 12(2) approval is desirable.
