About the Role

Jupiter Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist to join our team as an Associate Specialist in a leading mental health clinic based in the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing exceptional care to patients with mental disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Admission: Conduct thorough assessments and admissions of new patients to the service, ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
  • Collateral History: Obtain comprehensive collateral histories from other professionals and family members to inform treatment decisions.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment: Formulate diagnoses in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team and develop effective treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.
  • Physical Health Assessments: Conduct physical health assessments and work closely with GPs and Physical Health Nurses to improve patient wellbeing.
  • Discharge Planning: Complete discharge letters, reports, and SOAD forms to ensure seamless transitions to community care.
  • Care Programme Approach: Support the adequate working of the Care Programme Approach and Care and Treatment Plans for service users.
  • Medication Management: Work closely with the Pharmacist to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based prescribing.
  • Interagency Collaboration: Liaise with external professionals and work collaboratively with commissioners and external care teams to facilitate seamless transitions to community care.
  • Service Development: Contribute to service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities, quality initiatives, audits, research, and teaching.
  • Leadership and Reporting: Under the supervision of the Consultant, provide leadership of the clinical team and prepare First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearing reports.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 3 years' experience in Psychiatry, with a strong background in working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Professional Registration: Full GMC Registration and good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Appraisal and RITA: Recent Appraisal/RITA within the last year.
