Electrical Craftsperson Job Description

Breedon Group plc is seeking a skilled Electrical Craftsperson to join our team at the Cement Hope works. As a key member of the electrical maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety: Actively take responsibility for your safety and the safety of others, use and maintain risk assessments/method statements, complete dynamic STOP point of work assessments, raise safety observations, and participate in toolbox talks.
  • Duties: Conduct planned maintenance inspections and corrective works of plants, fixed and rotating assets, in a heavy industrial environment, including all HV & LV assets, electrical inspection & testing, and maintenance to BS7671, fault finding, repairing defects, and ensuring high standards of safety.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Time served/apprentice training, advanced modern apprenticeship level 3, in Electrical Engineering, City & Guilds 236 Pt 1 & 2 or 2230 Level 3 NVQ 2356 / 2357 or City and Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation or AM1 and AM2, 18th Edition Wiring regulation BS7671 Certificate.
  • Experience: Proven relevant experience in electrical, C&I experience in a heavy industrial environment, ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, good working knowledge of the cement manufacturing process.
  • Skills/Knowledge: Low/Medium voltage electrical isolation, experience in working with variable speed drives and PLC's, working knowledge of process gas analysis systems & techniques, basic knowledge of IT systems, verbal and written communication skills.
