Electrical Tester Job Description

The Electrical Tester plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the electrical network at Hope Cement Works. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the electrical network to support the site's operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical Installation Condition Reports: Prepare detailed and accurate reports using industry-standard testing equipment and software, identifying faults, defects, or potential hazards, including earthing and bonding issues, disconnection time issues, and deterioration of electrical components.
  • Visual and Thermographic Surveys: Conduct visual and thermographic surveys of electrical equipment to identify potential issues.
  • Documentation and Liaison: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electrical documentation using computerized maintenance management systems and applications, and liaise with maintenance teams to schedule and coordinate electrical repairs and upgrades.
  • Remedial Work and Continuous Improvement: Identify the requirement for remedial work to electrical equipment and infrastructure, and contribute to the continuous improvement of electrical safety practices within the plant.
  • Installation and Remedial Works: Carry out installation and remedial works to low-voltage electrical installations and equipment.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: ONC, HNC, Level 3 City & Guilds or recognized apprenticeship in electrical installation, engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience carrying out Electrical Installation Condition reports.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills; meticulous eye for detail; strong commitment to safety; experience working with three-phase equipment and motor control centers.
