Engineering Insurance Underwriter Opportunity

NFU Mutual's Head Office Underwriting Department is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as an Engineering Insurance Underwriter. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the company's planned growth by developing and implementing underwriting strategies for their Engineering Insurance offering.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Propositions department and other key stakeholders to establish the parameters of growth targets and define the company's risk appetite. They will be responsible for translating underwriting appetite into workable rules, processes, and communications to enable the effective execution of risk appetite and optimize the performance of the sales channel.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies for Engineering Insurance offering
  • Work with Propositions department and key stakeholders to establish growth targets and risk appetite
  • Translate underwriting appetite into workable rules, processes, and communications
  • Review and provide expert judgement to risk rates to ensure informed decision-making
About You
  • Strong background in Underwriting or Broker experience in Engineering Breakdown Insurance
  • Ability to think strategically and manage projects effectively
  • Excellent knowledge of the Engineering Insurance market and its influencing factors
  • High level of data literacy and ability to translate data into actionable insights
