Design Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team at Randstad Construction and Property. As a Design Manager, you will play a key role in the success of our projects, working closely with our clients, consultants, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality designs that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design process from tender to completion, ensuring that designs are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with our estimating and commercial teams to identify opportunities and potential issues with critical pathways.
  • Manage the information flow between clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Take responsibility for managing RFIs, change processes, CDM regulations, and other project-related tasks.
  • Collaborate with project managers, site delivery teams, and subcontractors to ensure that designs are implemented effectively on site.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role in a Tier 1 or larger regional contractor.
  • Experience of working on schemes above 10 million and familiarity with D&B projects and framework negotiations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential issues.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software.
