Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Charge Specialist to join our team on a fixed-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for calculating and apportioning service charges for around 80,000 homes that receive communal services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of around 8,000 homes, calculating the relevant service charges and undertaking regular expenditure analysis.
  • Work with the local neighborhood teams in answering any questions from customers concerning the charges.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of service charges.
  • Provide exceptional customer service skills, responding to complaints and queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Service Charge team to maximize the recovery of service charge expenditures for designated estates.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of legislation relating to service charges and knowledge of financial accounting (income / expenditure).
  • Exceptional customer service skills with experience working in customer service environments.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to make effective judgements based on facts.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with challenging situations.
  • Ability to set own priorities and work proactively in order to achieve set deadlines and targets.
