Salary Information

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Rail Timetabling Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our timetabling team, you will be responsible for delivering very short timetabling arrangements that support the management of SPAD mitigation. This will involve planning train movements to a time horizon of 48 hours or less, ensuring that timetabling is aligned with Network Rail's contractual arrangements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a library of regularly used timetable slots to ensure consistent delivery
  • Identifying regular and frequent requests for short-term movements to the Train Planning Manager for introduction into the permanent timetable
  • Assisting controllers by recording train running information where required

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A good understanding of railway geography and rules of the route
  • An understanding of SPAD mitigation arrangements and train planning processes
  • Good keyboard skills and the ability to work to fixed timescales
  • Self-reliance and strong organizational skills
