Internal Controls Assurance Director

RSM is seeking an experienced Internal Controls Assurance Director to join our Risk Assurance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and undertaking complex internal controls engagements, including US SOX, ICoFR, and Service Auditor reporting under ISAE3402 and AAF standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage internal controls assignments, including planning, programming, conduct, and control of audit work, reporting findings, and liaising with clients.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across RSM, the risk & governance service line, and clients.
- Manage and perform internal controls assignments, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and quality requirements.
- Oversee the preparation of process flows and controls documentation.
- Assist Partners in ensuring that assignments are completed to time and budget.
- Prepare draft internal controls reports and working paper files to high-quality standards.
- Lead and supervise more junior staff on individual assignments, providing technical audit guidance and support.
- Assess the performance of team members and provide feedback.
- Participate in RSM's appraisal and development process.
- Good technical knowledge of internal controls standards, documentation, and testing.
- Previous experience of SOX (or equivalent) implementation and delivering readiness and type 1 controls assurance reporting engagements under ISAE and AAF standards.
- Experience working with large global organisations.
- Ability to review and control technical content of work to ensure compliance with relevant standards and quality requirements.
