Director of Education and Training

The Director of Education and Training will provide visionary leadership of education, training, and learning across the Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC). This will include the development, implementation, and operationalisation of a BCHC Education Strategy that serves the needs of the whole workforce and pre and post-registration students, Advanced Practice, and supports new ways of working and models of care in the community.
Main Duties- Lead the operational management of the Education team to ensure day-to-day delivery of activity and business continuity.
- Support the delivery of a multi-disciplinary/multi-professional education portfolio.
- Lead by example to promote excellent communication and effective matrix working within the Education, Corporate, and Divisional teams and external stakeholders/partners.
The post holder will provide advice and support to ensure education plans are flexible to meet immediate demand and future-focused to meet developing service needs in the context of local and national workforce challenges across BCHC.
Work with Medical and Non-Medical Directors/leads to ensure that clinical and non-clinical educational programmes are consistent with service needs and are flexible enough to fit operationally.
BCHC has over 5000 staff working across Birmingham and the West Midlands in a wide range of community nursing and specialist healthcare roles. BCHC delivers over 100 clinical services, in people's homes, health centres, clinics, and inpatient facilities. We deliver a wide range of services for children, young people, and families as well as adults and community services, two community hospitals, services for people with learning disabilities, the internationally recognised West Midlands Rehab Centre, and one of Europe's leading Dental Hospitals and School of Dentistry.

Person Specification- Masters degree in a relevant professional subject or equivalent.
- Extensive senior leadership/management experience in the field of Education, including staff, budgetary, and performance management.
- Experience of service redesign, project management, and workforce transformation.
- Experience in a service management at a senior level in an NHS setting.
- Ability to lead transformational change in clinical services across professional boundaries.
